- I am having trouble seeing where the porcelain is attaced to the floor and wall. I see caulking around the junctions of the sink at both the wall and bathroom floor. But I am wondering if there are any bolts or anything else to that effect holding the sink to the wall and/or floor?
How do I remove the sink without causing damage?
Also I have noticed that when I fill the sink and stop it, some water falls to the floor, which tells me that the former owners failed to put a layer of sealant on top of the fiberglass sink and underneath the perimeter of the drain stop. What kind of putty should be placed there ? - May 6th, 2009
- My wife and I moved into our new house around 6 months ago. We had the builder install porcelain tile throughout the house. Since then i have just used hot water and a sponge to clean any residue. However, i would like to mop it pretty soon. If anyone has some advice, I would appreciate it. - May 3rd, 2009

- I’m planning to extend the porcelain tile from my kitchen into the entryway. I have found the tile to match. I’ve looked under the entryway carpet (which will be removed). Unfortunately the kitchen tile was installed on top of the linoleum. The entry way is simply carpet over concrete slab. What can I do to make sure the new tile, which will be directly on the slab, is level with the old tile, which was installed on top of linoleum? - April 17th, 2009
- We installed interceramic ceramic tile in the shower. It has water absorption of <.050%. It says the material is glazed porcelain. Do I need to seal this type of tile? What about the grout? - April 15th, 2009
- This is an old octagonal kiln, an L and L . I added a suction vent (homemade) by drilling some holes in the top and bottom, similar to the commercial add ons. Hot air still escapes throught the top holes though, I think because there are too many leaks elsewhere. In a smoke test, smoke will enter the bottom peek hole but not the top one. Can I seal the unit on the outside with aluminum foil tape, as is used on heat ducting work? - April 3rd, 2009
